Thruxton Motorsport Centre.
The track at Thruxton, started life as a WW2 airfield, first being used for racing by bikes in 1950 and utilising both runways and the perimiter roads. Two years later cars started racing there, but by 1965 the tarmac was twenty years old, and breaking up badly. Racing recommenced in 1968, with the new track based on the old perimeter road, and eschewing the old runways. The like of Hill, Stewart and Rindt quickly cemented the tracks reputation as a drivers circuit. As the host of the British Touring Cars Championship as well as super-bikes the track is still providing thrilling action.
Not content to rest on our laurels, we at Thruxton have been determined to offer driving thrills to as many people as possible, and we are constantly striving to bring the fastest cars available for them to drive. That's why we are the only circuit in the UK (and possibly the world) to offer a chance to drive the 210mph Lamborghini LP640. At £220,000, this will be the only chance most of us have to drive this awesome machine. As well as Italian exotica like this, we also offer the chance to drive Landrovers, Aston Martin DB9's, a Formula Renault racing car and karts. You can even see all of the track at the same time, from the cockpit of a Pitts aerobatic plane, piloted by an ex Red Arrows pilot!
